According to media reports, Porsche Panamera has been recalled due to a potential side airbag issue.
A manufacturing issue has resulted in the wiring harness between the door pressure sensor and the airbag control unit being assembled with an incorrect connector pin allocation.
This fault may cause the side airbag to deploy with a delay during a crash. A delayed trigger could significantly increase the risk of injury or death to occupants in the event of an accident.
Porsche India is expected to contact the owners of the affected vehicles directly to fix the problem free of charge. Owners can also check if their car is affected by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official Porsche recall website
