The Kia Sonet facelift which went on sale earlier this year, has achieved a sales milestone of 1 lakh units. Kia India has sold more than 1 lakh units of the subcompact SUV in India, taking just 11 months to reach this milestone.
The refreshed sub-compact SUV was introduced in the market in January this year. The mid-cycle facelift brought several features to the Sonet.
Kia India revealed it has sold more than 9,000 units of the Sonet on a monthly basis since sales of the facelifted model began in January this year. More than 76 percent of sales have come from petrol-powered variants, while only 24 percent of customers have opted for the Sonet diesel.
Automatic and intelligent manual transmissions together contributed to 34 per cent of sales, reflecting the growing demand for such options. Moreover, 79 per cent of the vehicles sold were equipped with a sunroof, highlighting its popularity among buyers, the company said.
Hardeep Singh Brar, Sr. VP and Head of Sales and Marketing, said, “When we introduced the New Sonet, it came with several best-in-segment features, premiumising the segment. These features have significantly enhanced the value proposition of the New Sonet, contributing to strong sales performance. This milestone is a testament to the trust and appreciation of our customers, motivating us to continue delivering products that surpass expectations.”
The Sonet is priced between ₹7.99 – 15.77 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It comes with a choice of a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to either a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed AT and a 7-speed DCT transmission.
