Toyota Camry has been recalled in the country due to a software error in the parking assist ECU, which can cause the 360-degree camera image to glitch, freeze while reversing, or not appear on the touchscreen at all.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is proactively addressing this issue as part of its commitment to product quality and customer safety.
A voluntary recall was issued for 2,257 units of the ninth-generation Camry manufactured since December 2024.
The 9th Gen Camry was launched in India on December 11, 2024. It is powered exclusively by Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system (THS 5), which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an e-CVT gearbox, delivering a combined output of up to 230 PS (227-230 bhp) and 220-221 Nm of torque. With an ARAI efficiency of 25.49 kpl, it is one of the most fuel-efficient cars in India.
Toyota offers two core variants, the Elegant and the Sprint Edition, with an extra charge for the special Platinum White Pearl paint on either variant.
