Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Plant Crosses 1 Crore Production

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reached a significant milestone, with the Manesar facility crossing the 1 crore cumulative production mark.

The Manesar facility has now become the fastest among Suzuki’s global automobile manufacturing facilities to reach this milestone, taking just 18 years.

The facility, which commenced operations in October 2006, is spread over 600 acres and manufactures a range of models, including Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dzire, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the first to roll out of the plant was the popular small SUV Brezza, highlighting the automaker’s rising position in the SUV market.

These models are sold in the domestic market and are exported to international markets, like Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and neighboring countries in Asia.

In the six months of current fiscal (April-September), Maruti Suzuki India sold 1,063,418 units, up from 1,050,085 in the same period last fiscal. The export figure for the first six months of FY25 was 148,276 units, up from 132,542 units in the last fiscal for the same period.

“As we reach this important landmark, I thank our customers for placing their trust in us. I also thank all our employees, business associates, and the Government of India for their continued support,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India.

Maruti Suzuki’s annual production capacity is approximately 23.5 lakh units. The company has manufactured over 3.11 crore vehicles since its inception.
