Maruti Suzuki’s latest Dzire model has secured a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, marking a significant achievement as the automaker’s first model to earn this top rating.
The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which will be launched in India on November 11, is a whole generation change from the earlier model, and it gets fresh styling and new interiors.
The tested model was a Made-in-India model, which features six airbags, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, electronic stability control, Isofix mounts, and seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters.
While the Dzire 2024 has scored five stars in the adult occupant protection category, it has received four stars in the child occupant protection category. The car got 31.24 points out of 34 in adult safety and 39.20 points out of 49 in child safety.
Maruti Suzuki has enhanced its focus on car safety in 2024. The new Dzire comes with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and pedestrian protection as standard.
David Ward, Executive President of the Towards Zero Foundation, stated, “The new Dzire’s five-star rating sets a significant safety benchmark for Maruti Suzuki compared to the previous version of this model and others from Maruti we have tested.” He further added, “We are optimistic that going forward Maruti will seek to achieve this high level of safety performance across their model range. If they do, it will be a vehicle safety game changer for Indian consumers.”
The pricing for the all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is yet to be unveiled, but the 5-star GNCAP safety rating does make it a more desirable product.
