Skoda Auto India launched its first sub-4-meter compact SUV, the Kylaq, on November 6. Based on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq is the carmaker’s third locally developed model after the Kushaq and Slavia.

The Kylaq will be offered in four trims: Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige.

Interested buyers will be able to book the new Kylaq online or at an authorized Skoda dealership from December 2, 2024. Skoda has also confirmed that deliveries of the new Kylaq compact SUV will begin on January 27.

Skoda Kylaq: Powertrain

The Kylaq will come with a sole 115hp, 178Nm 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed torque converter automatic or a 6-speed manual, with a claimed 0-100kph time of around 10.5 seconds.

Skoda Kylaq: Dimensions

The Kylaq is 230mm shorter than the Kushaq. The Kylaq measures 3,995mm in length, 1,783mm in width, and 1,619mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,566mm.

The Kylaq includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, an electronic differential lock, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Skoda Kylaq competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3X0, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
