Skoda Octavia RS to Debut in India at Bharat Mobility Show
The new-gen Skoda Octavia RS will be presented at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025.
The Octavia RS, which is the performance-oriented trim of the Skoda Octavia sedan, is powered by a 2-litre TSI petrol engine producing 268 bhp and 370 Nm and is mated to a DSG gearbox.
Compared to its standard model, the RS gets a more sporty look and a lower ground clearance. The Skoda Octavia RS gets a premium appeal with a blacked-out grille, a new set of alloy wheels, a sporty look, and much more.
The Octavia RS has always been a favorite of enthusiasts in the Indian market. The German carmaker sold the last two iterations of the Octavia RS—the RS 230 and RS 245—in limited numbers as CBUs in India. The Octavia RS 230 was launched in 2017, while the more powerful Octavia RS 245 was launched at the Auto Expo 2020.
Some media reports indicate that the fourth-generation Octavia RS will be unveiled at the upcoming Bharat Mobility show event solely to test the reaction of the purchasers and may well be slowly introduced in the future, too.
The Octavia RS, a performance sedan from Skoda, has a cult following among the car enthusiasts in India. The last model we had was its fourth-generation version, which was phased out in 2023 with the implementation of the BS6 II emission standards.
