Moreover, Citroen Basalt is offered in You, Plus and Max trim levels. Base You trim is NA Petrol only and top-spec Max trim is Turbo only. Mid-spec Plus gets both NA Petrol and Turbo Petrol options.
Notably, this is the first hike since the SUV made its India debut in August 2024.

The Basalt offers two engine options and features a four-star Bharat NCAP rating. Even after its 2025 price hike, the Citroen Basalt continues to be the most affordable offering in the compact coupe SUV segment.
On the powertrain front, the Basalt is offered with either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill good for 81 bhp and 115 Nm or a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit that belts out 108 bhp and 195 Nm in manual and 205 Nm in automatic guise. The naturally aspirated petrol mill is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the turbo-petrol comes with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
Additionally, Citroen is also reportedly working on an EV derivative of the Basalt.
