Mercedes-Benz India Achieves Record-Breaking Sales in 2024

Mercedes-Benz has announced its best-ever annual sales performance, marking a significant milestone in its 30-year journey in India.
The German luxury carmaker sold 19,565 units in 2024, registering a robust 12.4% year-on-year growth compared to the 17,408 units sold in 2023. Mercedes-Benz is the most desirable luxury car brand in India with 2 lakh units sold since 1994.
“This outstanding sales result was driven by a combination of newly-launched and existing vehicles and an enhanced retail customer experience. Demand persisted for Mercedes-Benz across its entry, core, and top-end vehicle (TEV) segments, with strong performance from new as well as existing products,” said Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
Mercedes-Benz's electric vehicle portfolio played a major role in its growth in 2024.
Among luxury original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Mercedes Benz India has seen the highest growth in EV sales –by over 82 per cent in 2024, Sales from this segment witnessed an impressive 94% YoY growth, making up over 6% of the company’s total sales during the year.
To further enhance its EV portfolio, Mercedes-Benz introduced four new models: the EQA 250+, the five-seater EQB SUV, the locally manufactured EQS SUV 580, and the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.
Financial Services:
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services portfolio crossed Rs 10,000 crore; 50% of vehicles sold were financed through the service.
Mercedes-Benz India’s 2025 plan
The company plans to launch eight new models in 2025 with majority focussed on BEV & TEV, to excite consumers with the latest products and cutting-edge intuitive technology offerings.
Around 20 new luxury outlets are planned in 2025, for which Rs 450+ crore investment has been committed by Franchise Partners in three years.
BMW India
The BMW Group India also has achieved its best-ever annual car deliveries with 11% growth. The company delivered 15,721 cars (BMW and MINI). . BMW sold 15,012 units and MINI did 709 units.
Audi India
Audi India, the third largest luxury carmaker, concluded 2024 with 5,816 retail sales, a 26.7% decline compared to 7,931 units sold in 2023.
