MG has showcased the Majestor SUV, India’s first D+ segment SUV on the second day of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. D segment is a mid-size car, which is larger than compact cars but smaller than full-size cars. The company promises immense road presence, which will be a class above than the current crop of D Segment SUVs.
The Majestor is essentially the updated version of the Gloster with reworked front and rear profiles.
“With commanding power and rugged capability, the MG MAJESTOR excels on any terrain, making it ideal for both city and adventure. The massively spacious cabin, crafted with premium materials and thoughtful design, guarantees a refined journey for all occupants,” a company statement said.
Design : MG Majestor
From the front, the Majestor features a prominent blacked-out grille with horizontal slats, and an oversized MG logo. Flanking the grille are the split headlamps with sleek LED DRLs positioned above the vertically stacked headlamps. The side profile of the MG Majestor looks the same as that of the Gloster, with the only difference here being a new five-spoke design for the 19-inch machined alloy wheels. At the rear, the connected LED taillights create a striking visual impression, while the revised bumper with dual exhausts compliments the overall design.
The interior and features are yet to be revealed, but it could get dual screens, panoramic sunroof and wireless phone chargers. Moreover, the MG Majestor is expected to offer everything the MG Gloster does and more.
MG Majestor : Powertrain
The MG Majestor is expected to bring the same 2-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the MG Gloster. This engine produces 216 hp power and 479 Nm peak torque and is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Similar to the Gloster, the MG Majestor too is expected to be available with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains.
