  • Ferrari’s new EV will be part of a total of six new models the company plans to launch this year, he added.
  • Known for its roaring petrol engines, Ferrari started offering its wealthy clients hybrid models in 2019.
  • Its electrification plans will not be affected by policies of the Trump administration or by the risk of a trade war.
Ferrari’s new EV will be part of a total of six new models the company plans to launch this year.
CEO Benedetto Vigna stated.
“This year we will launch 6 new models and, among these, the first electric Ferrari about which I can say little, except that it will be full electric”, he said after the glamour sports car maker reported bumper 2024 results.
“The presentation will take place in an innovative and unique way at Capital Markets Day on 9 October, that day there will be a lot of electrons around Maranello” he added.
“We have never talked about electric transition, but about addition.
We are not leaving something to replace it with another, but we are adding the fully electric traction car to the thermal and hybrid cars.
Notably, Ferrari began incorporating hybrid technology into its offerings in 2019, and hybrid models accounted for 51 percent of Ferrari’s total sales in 2023, demonstrating a growing demand for electrified performance cars.

Ferrari has filed multiple patents related to EV technology over the years, including a recent one for a three-motor powertrain with various methods for generating an emotional sound—one of the key selling points of Ferrari’s gasoline-powered lineup. As with its gas engines, Ferrari plans to develop its own electric motors, inverters, and batteries, though it will collaborate with partners in certain areas, such as battery technology.
Additionally, Ferrari sees significant potential for its upcoming EV in China, given the country’s strong preference for electric mobility. However, any potential adjustments to Ferrari’s current sales cap in the Chinese market will be announced at the capital markets day in October. This event is expected to provide further insights into Ferrari’s electric strategy, solidifying its commitment to innovation while maintaining the prestige and performance that define the brand.
Moreover, the luxury car maker predicts its first EV could account for five per cent of its 2026 sales, with its planned battery-powered models tipped to account for 40 per cent of its annual deliveries by 2030.
