The Kempegowda International Airport has become the first to get a ‘made in India’ friction testing vehicle, and it is based on a Citroen C5 Aircross SUV.
Indian airports have often relied on abroad friction testers like the V90 at the Cochin International Aiport. . Formerly, a fleet of Saab 9-5 Station Wagons used to be employed- imports again. Bengaluru’s latest development marks a notable shift in the industry.

Reporting and Interpretation:

The calculated friction values are displayed and can be used to assess runway conditions and identify areas needing attention.
