Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Launched in India, priced at Rs. 48.99 Lakh: Check powertrain, Features

The Tiguan R-Line is based on the MQB EVO platform, priced at Rs 48,99,900 (ex-showroom).

Volkswagen India has launched its flagship SUV the Tiguan R-Line at a price tag of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom).The latest offering is available only in a single, fully loaded variant and has arrived as a full import unit.

Bookings are now open for the new Tiguan R-Line and deliveries of the vehicle are to start from April 23.

Speaking at the launch, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, said, “This iconic SUVW along with being bold and dynamic is also modern, fully equipped and highly capable to handle all terrains. Developed with German–engineered DNA, 5-star safety and fun-to-drive dynamics, the all-new Tiguan R-Line is here to thrill.”

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Exterior

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line features a sporty design. The flagship SUV is built on the updated version of the MQB Evo platform. The fascia features an enclosed grille flanked by sleek projector headlamps that are connected by a glass-covered horizontal strip that gets an ‘R’ badge to denote exclusivity. The 2025 Tiguan R-Line rides on 19-inch alloy wheels. It also gets body-coloured door handles, ORVMs, and silver-coloured roof rails. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and exclusive R-Line badging add to its dynamic appeal.

Interior and Features

On the inside, the Tiguan R-Line boasts an all-black interior highlighted by striking red accents on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Moreover, the seats get the special R-Line badge. A 10.25-inch fully digital and customizable instrument cluster is integrated with the latest fourth-generation Modular Infotainment Toolkit (MIB4). Additionally, a large 15-inch infotainment display with a built-in TFT LCD supports features such as a head-up display, IDA voice assistant, voice enhancer, 30-colour ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Powertrain

The Tiguan R-Line is Equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine delivering 204PS/320Nm, the SUV comes with a 7-speed DSG transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

The all-new Tiguan R-Line will be available in 6 colour options:

Persimmon Red Metallic
Cipressino Green Metallic
Nightshade Blue Metallic
Grenadilla Black Metallic
Oryx White Pearl
Oyster Silver Metallic.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Safety Features

On the safety front, the Tiguan R-Line includes nine airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, front & rear disc brakes combined with a suite of 21 Level 2 ADAS features like side assist, front assist, lane assist, park assist plus, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Notably, the Tiguan R-Line boasts a five-star Euro NCAP rating.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Dimensions

The VW Tiguan R-Line measures 4,539 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width, 1,656 mm in height and has a 2,680 mm long wheelbase.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will compete with the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross.
