The first batch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI have been fully booked even before its official launch. Car enthusiasts in India are now ready to embrace premium performance hatchbacks, even if they come at a higher price tag.
Volkswagen has closed the pre-launch booking window of this upcoming hot hatch as all the allocated units have been reserved.
Volkswagen opened bookings for the Golf GTI in India on May 5, 2025, and all 150 units from the first batch are already booked. Interested buyers had to participate in an online quiz, with only those scoring at least 4 out of 5 gaining access to a pre-booking link, strictly limited to one entry per mobile number.
As we mentioned earlier, Volkswagen brought a limited number of cars in the first batch to around 150 units and all have been spoken for which means it remains to be seen when the new batch of cars is coming.
However, given the strong interest from enthusiasts, we believe the company might consider bringing more units to our shores.
Price and Deliveries
The Golf GTI’s on-road price is expected to be around Rs 57 lakh, and the official announcement will likely happen later this month.
Deliveries of the hot-hatch will commence in June from select dealerships across India.
