Skoda Kylaq New Mid-Spec Variant Coming Soon
Skoda India is planning introduce a new mid-spec variant of the Kylaq compact SUV.
The new variant will be positioned between the entry-level Classic and Signature variants. There is a Rs.1.51 lakh price difference between the two variants, with a majority of the extra cost existing due to an enhanced feature list.
Notably, Skoda has been grab the attention of the price-sensitive customers in the Indian automotive sector. This strategy reflects a wider industry trend where carmakers like Tata Motors and Hyundai have found success by offering tightly spaced variant options.
Skoda has not yet revealed the name and feature list of this new variant. However, we expect this new trim to borrow some features from the Signature variant, like an infotainment screen, rear AC vents, front armrest, etc. Moreover, the brand is yet to confirm if this new variant will be equipped with a manual gearbox only or both manual & automatic gearbox options.
The Kylaq, Skoda India’s vehicle of entry into the booming compact SUV market, has received a massively strong customer response. So much so that from February 2025 onwards, it has become the company’s best-selling locally produced vehicle, ahead of the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan.
Bullish on accelerated demand for the Kylaq coming its way and having ramped up production capacity, Skoda India expects Kylaq sales to hit the 8,000-unit monthly mark by the end of CY2025.
Currently, the Kylaq model lineup is available in the price range of Rs 8.25 lakh – Rs 13.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
