Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV Launched in India; Price Start at Rs 7.99 Lakh

Citroen India has launched the Basalt coupe-SUV at an introductory price of Rs 7.99 lakh. The Basalt is Citroen’s first mass-market SUV-coupe, and fourth model based on Citroen’s C-Cubed programme for India.

Citroen Basalt serves as an alternative to traditional midsize SUVs, although its direct rival will be the Tata Curvv.

Citroen Basalt: Exterior

The coupe-SUV by Citroen sports a split LED DRL setup, below which you can spot the LED projector headlamps. It gets squared-off elements in the grille, a faux silver skid plate for the chin, and the same chrome-lined Chevron logo at the top. Moreover, the bonnet and the LED daytime running lamp signature are carried over. Furthermore, blacked-out ORVMs, flap-type door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, wraparound taillights, sloping roofline, and optional contrast-coloured roof.

Citroen Basalt: Interior

Inside, the Basalt borrows elements from the Citroen C3 Aircross, the dashboard design and the 10.25-inch central touchscreen. Unlike the Aircross, it is also equipped with a 7.0-inch full digital instruments display and has adjustable under-thigh support for the rear seats.

The Basalt comes offers a new HVAC panel with digital readouts, toggle switches, Auto AC function and a larger front armrest and big storage space, 15-watt wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and connected car tech.

Citroen Basalt: Powertrain

Citroen Bsalt is powered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 81 BHP and 115 Nm and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that puts out 108 BHP and 190 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

Citroen Basalt: Colour options

Citroen Basalt is launched in 7 attractive colour schemes. 5 of them are monotone and 2 dual tones. Monotone options include Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Cosmo Blue, Polar White, and Garnet Red. There will also be Polar White with Platinum Grey roof and Garnet Red with Pearl Nera Black roof among its dual-tone colours.

Citroen Basalt: Safety

The Basalt include standard 6 airbags, ESC, Isofix, seat belt reminders and 3-point seat belts for all seats. Moreover, The Basalt is built using ultra-high-strength steel, contributing to the structural integrity of the vehicle.
