Tata Harrier EV AWD has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Notably, this is the manufacturers first all wheel drive layout since the Safari Storme was discontinued a few years ago.
This latest variant of the Harrier.ev boasts dual-motor all-wheel drive technology, making it the first Indian electric SUV to offer such a setup. The front motor delivers 158 PS (116 kW), while the rear motor pushes out 238 PS (175 kW), combining for an impressive 504 Nm of torque. Tata Motors says this allows for “supercar-like” performance and true off-road capability.
Moreover, the Harrier EV Quad Wheel Drive dual-motor version is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 6.3 seconds, making it the quickest in the segment. It comes with Boost Mode, 6 Terrain Modes, Off-Road Assist.
The Harrier EV range spans three trims – Adventure, Fearless, and Empowered – but the AWD configuration is exclusive to the top-of-the-line version.
Speaking at the launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “The Harrier.ev is a breakthrough product with industry-first innovations that not only address key EV adoption concerns but also raise the bar in terms of performance, safety, and value. It offers unmatched price parity with ICE vehicles and outperforms several high-end SUVs in capability.”
