Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Achieves 5 Lakh Production Mark
07 Jul 2025, 01:26 PM
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has Has achieved a significant milestone in India by rolling out its 500,000th locally manufactured car.
The number is divided among two manufacturing plants in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad). Of this, 70 percent vehicles were manufactured in Pune, and the remaining 30 percent rolled out of the latter. This aligns with the Indian government’s vision of “Make in India, for India and the world.”
The brand’s story in India began back in 2001 with the first Octavia rolled out of assembly lines in Aurangabad. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio to include models such as the Laura, Superb, Kodiaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and the recently introduced Kylaq, which is positioned as the brand’s first sub-4-meter vehicle.

Notably, Škoda also recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in March 2025, delivering 7,422 units in a single month. The automaker says behind each car manufactured, stands a skilled and dedicated workforce, advanced technology, and the unwavering trust of customers that continue to drive this remarkable journey.
As Skoda continues to expand its footprint in India, this production landmark highlights the country’s growing prominence in the global automotive industry while reinforcing Skoda’s commitment to quality and innovation.
