Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has introduced the second generation of its iconic GranTurismo in India.

The 2-door coupe is available in two variants, the Modena and the Trofeo, priced at Rs 2.72 crore and Rs 2.90 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.
Moreover, an all-electric version, the GranTurismo Folgore, is slated for launch in India in 2025. Philippe Claverol, Head of Overseas at Maserati, stated, “The Maserati GranTurismo’s debut in India represents a significant milestone for us, merging Maserati’s rich heritage with groundbreaking innovation.”
He added, “It demonstrates our commitment to automotive excellence by offering both powerful internal combustion engines and cutting-edge electric options.”

Maserati GranTurismo: Exterior

The design of the new Maserati GranTurismo draws inspiration from the MC20 supercar. The second-gen GranTurismo keeps the low-slung posture and sleek lines of the previous generation model. The front of the GranTurismo features the trident logo of Maserati along with air intakes and vertically designed LED headlamps. The GranTurismo has the signature Maserati grille up front and the classic gills on the fenders.
The side profile preserves the distinctive triple vent design, a signature of Maserati’s design language, while the rear benefits from sleeker, triangular taillamps, contributing to a more modern and refined appearance.
It comes with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels as standard, while carbon fiber exterior trim is available on the Trofeo variant.

Maserati GranTurismo: Interior

Maserati Interior
Maserati has significantly modernized the GranTurismo’s cabin; on the inside, the GranTurismo features a digital instrument display and a big central touchscreen. There is an additional 8.8-inch touchscreen below the primary 12.3-inch screen that handles the air conditioning and seat adjustments. The multifunction steering wheel retains some physical buttons, offering a blend of tactile and digital controls, while the classic analog watch at the top of the center console has also been replaced by a configurable digital screen. Also, several physical buttons have been replaced by touch-based controls and digital panels.
Maserati is offering a range of customization options for customers to spec up the vehicles to their liking.

Maserati GranTurismo: Powertrain and performance

The GranTurismo runs on a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine (situated behind the front axle), which produces 490 bhp/600 Nm and 550 bhp/650 Nm in the base Modena and performance-focused Trofeo models, respectively. The entry-level model boasts a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 302 km/h. In contrast, the more powerful Trofeo features a sprint time of 3.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h.

Maserati GranTurismo: Competitors

The GranTurismo will compete in India with models like the BMW M8 Competition, Ferrari Roma, and Aston Martin DB12.
