Honda 0 α (Alpha) Electric SUV India Launch In 2027
- Honda 0 α will be the first model under Honda’s new 0 Series EV lineup to be locally manufactured in India, with a market introduction planned for early 2027.
- The Honda 0 α will be underpinned by an all-new dedicated EV platform that promises improved efficiency, better weight distribution, and dynamic handling.
Japanese automaker Honda revealed the Honda 0 α (alpha), its next-generation electric vehicle, which will go on sale in India in 2027.
The 0 α (Alpha) SUV concept was revealed at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, marking the entry point to the Japanese brand’s 0 Series of EVs.
The 0 α will join two other models from the same lineup which are the Honda 0 Saloon and the Honda 0 SUV.
These models were first shown earlier this year at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. However, this new model will act as a “gateway” car, introducing more people to Honda’s next-generation EV family.
The Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV adopts the brand’s new ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ design language and features upright stance.
Positioned as the entry point to Honda’s upcoming 0 Series, the 0 α aims to combine futuristic design, practicality, and Honda’s long-standing reputation for reliability.
Design & Interior
Visually, the Honda 0 α embodies a clean, modern aesthetic with a low and wide stance that enhances aerodynamic efficiency.
The interior of the Honda 0 α remains under wraps, the brand has confirmed that the SUV follows its ‘Thin’ design philosophy, achieving a low-slung, streamlined silhouette with wheelbase of 2,700-2,800mm, longer than the current Honda Elevate, ensuring ample interior room.
Specifications
The technical details haven’t been released, we expect the production-spec 0 α SUV to provide driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. It will come with two LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery options, chosen specifically for their durability and heat resistance in markets like India.
Production Details
Honda 0 α SUV will be manufactured locally in India and will spearhead the company’s electric mobility journey, replacing the previously planned Elevate EV project.
This marks a major move for the company, establishing India as a global manufacturing hub for this new EV, which will be exported to other markets.
Price Expectations
Honda has not disclosed pricing for the 0 α, but it is positioned as a gateway model suggesting a competitive price point in the segment. The vehicle is expected to be priced around Rs 18 lakh to compete with established rivals.
The Japanese automaker has confirmed that the 0 α will run on a next-generation operating system, integrating AI-based assistance, cloud connectivity, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Honda 0 SUV
Honda will also bring the Honda 0 SUV to India as a completely built unit import. The Honda 0 Saloon will remain exclusive to international markets.
Official Statement
Honda Motor Director, President and Representative, Toshihiro Mibe, said Honda is working toward an ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality for all of its products and corporate activities by 2050. Although the market environment surrounding electrification continues to be uncertain, the company believes that, in the long run, the shift toward EVs will continue, he added.
