New Phase For Mahindra’s Premium SUV

Mahindra moved into a more tech-driven direction in 2021 when the first XUV700 arrived.
This SUV raised the bar in its segment and pushed rival brands to improve their own models.
Now, toward the end of 2025 the updated version seems closer to its final stage of testing

Recent spy pictures taken by automotive spotter Gokul Nath give a deeper look into the upgraded interior, showing major changes that are expected to make the SUV feel more modern when it launches likely in 2026

Fresh Cabin Changes Seen In Latest Test Mule

New spy shots show that Mahindra has made several updates to the cabin. These changes help the SUV match modern design elements while keeping comfort high

Key Interior Highlights

  • New two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra Twin Peaks logo
  • Dual-tone black and brown leatherette wrap on the steering wheel
  • Brown leatherette on the dashboard for a soft touch feel
  • New central AC vents with chrome touches for a premium look
  • Auto-dimming inside mirror (IRVM) added for convenience
  • Harman Kardon speaker system expected to improve cabin audio quality

The outer AC vents remain in the same position but the center vents have a redesigned shape. The overall dashboard looks more refined compared to the current model

The test unit in the spy images also carried a Diesel sticker on the rear windshield and the automatic gear selector confirms that the SUV being tested is a Diesel Automatic version

Since it is still a test mule the cabin area has extra wiring and testing devices placed inside which is typical for vehicles in this development phase

Triple-Screen Setup Continues To Be the Highlight

Big Tech Upgrade With Three 12.3 inch Displays

Just like the XEV 9e the upcoming XUV700 facelift will include a striking triple screen layout. This setup is likely to be one of the main selling points for the updated model

The three screens include:

  1. 12.3-inch infotainment system
  2. 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  3. 12.3-inch co-passenger entertainment screen

Rear passengers may not get built in screens but Mahindra will continue to offer a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) system allowing users to connect their personal tablets or phones for entertainment

Spy renders of the 2026 model show how this three screen setup aims to give the cabin a futuristic look while keeping the dashboard clean and organized

  • 2.0L turbo-petrol engine
  • 2.2L turbo-diesel engine

Both engines are expected to be paired with either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed automatic gearbox depending on the variant

These engines currently deliver strong performance in the XUV700 and are likely to remain unchanged so that customers can continue to choose between power and efficiency

With testing now in full swing the Mahindra XUV700 facelift appears to be moving closer to its production-ready stage. The updated interior new steering wheel triple screen layout and premium touches show that Mahindra is preparing a major refresh for 2026. If the leaked details are accurate this model will continue to be one of the most feature rich SUVs in its segment
