After months of delays, the e Vitara has now moved into the production stage. Maruti Suzuki has started building the SUV at its Gujarat plant which is also where several of the company’s export models are made. Once production began the brand shipped the first 6,000 units to Europe and the UK, showing that the model is being readied for both Indian and global markets
For buyers in India, the e Vitara will be offered in three variants and 10 exterior color choices. These options will help the SUV appeal to a wide range of users from everyday city drivers to those who prefer a more feature loaded or premium version. Full variant details are already available on the company’s official website
Maruti e Vitara Battery Options And Claimed Range
The e Vitara will come with two battery pack choices giving buyers flexibility based on their daily use. The first pack is a 48.8 kWh unit while the second is a larger 61.1 kWh pack. Both versions use a single electric motor and a front wheel drive setup (FWD). This layout is common among city focused electric SUVs because it helps keep costs down and improves efficiency
Maruti Suzuki says the SUV can deliver a claimed range of 500 km on one full charge. This makes it suitable for city commutes, weekend trips and highway drives as long as fast charging stations are available on the route
Charging time is also competitive. Using a DC fast charger the battery can go from 0 to 80 percent in around 50 minutes. This makes it easier for users to top up the battery during breaks on long trips
Maruti e Vitara Exterior And Interior Highlights
The electric SUV carries a clean and modern design from front to back. The left side profile and rear view show a simple and upright stance which gives it a strong road presence
While the outside focuses on sharp lines and LED lighting, the cabin brings a mix of comfort, technology and safety features that many new age buyers look for
Some of the key features include:
- Level 2 ADAS
- Ventilated front seats
- LED projector headlamps
- 360-degree camera
- Electric sunroof
- Multiple drive modes
- Suzuki Connect connected car tech
- TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
- Seven airbags
- 10 way power adjustable driver seat
These features make the e Vitara one of the most equipped Maruti SUVs yet. The inclusion of Level 2 ADAS and a 360 degree camera shows that the brand is focusing more on safety and driver assistance, which is now becoming a major selling point in this segment
Future Maruti EV Plans
The e Vitara is more than just a single model launch. It is the first of four EVs that Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce in India by 2030. This shows how the brand is preparing for the shift toward electric mobility
Maruti has already completed its test drives for the e Vitara and a detailed review is available on the company’s website. With production underway and the launch date fixed the e Vitara is expected to become a major part of Maruti’s strategy in the growing EV market
