Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Unveiled in India: 792km Range, Launch Date & Expected Price

Mercedes CLA Electric has been unveiled in India, marking the return of the nameplate to the country after its petrol and diesel models were discontinued in 2020.

The CLA Electric marks the first model built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA). It will replace the A-Class Limousine, as well as the EQA and EQB, to become the brand’s primary entry-level EV.

Globally, the electrified CLA is available in two variants; however, in India, only the 85kWh 250+ version will be offered.

India Launch & Pricing

• Expected Price: ₹55 lakh – ₹65 lakh (ex-showroom).
• Bookings: March 10, 2026.
• Official Launch/Deliveries: April 2026.

Battery Pack & Range

On the charging front, the system supports high-speed DC fast charging of up to 240kW, with Mercedes claiming that 400km of range can be added in just 20 minutes under ideal conditions.

Dimensions & Boot Space

The new Mercedes CLA EV is 4723mm in length, 1855mm in width and 1468mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2790mm. The sedan has a boot space of 405-litres

The CLA Electric will be available in five colors:

Design

The new electric Mercedes CLA blends classic luxury with a futuristic look. The front features a shiny black grille covered in tiny glowing stars and a sleek LED light strip connecting the headlights.

This clean aesthetic continues at the rear, where a matching light bar creates a high-tech signature. To keep the profile as aerodynamic as possible, Mercedes added pop-out flush door handles and specially designed 18-inch alloy wheels that help the car glide effortlessly on the road.

Interior

On the inside, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric 250+ offers dual-display setup featuring a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a massive 14-inch central touchscreen. Running on the cutting-edge MB.OS, the car comes alive with an AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant that integrates ChatGPT and Google Gemini for natural, conversational voice control.

Finding your way through city traffic is easier than ever with the immersive 3D Surround Navigation. Mercedes has swapped the traditional passenger screen for a premium glass panel adorned with LED-lit stars, which syncs with the cabin’s ambient lighting for a truly high-end feel.
