Mercedes-Benz India Exit Entry-Level Luxury: A-Class & EQA, EQB, And EQE Discontinued

Mercedes-Benz India has officially delisted the A-Class Limousine (Sedan), EQA, EQB, and EQE SUV from its Indian website.
An official statement said the following – “We have completely sold out the existing stock of these models in India. Customers looking for the latest generation BEV, can explore the new CLA, which is the most ‘intelligent Mercedes-Benz ever’ and has created new benchmark in the luxury BEVs, debuting on 24th April.”

Following these removals, the Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV has become the most affordable model in the brand’s Indian portfolio.
Why The Change?
According to Mercedes-Benz India CEO Santosh Iyer, the entry-level luxury segment in India saw an 18-23% decline over the last year. Instead of engaging in price wars with BMW (2 Series/iX1), Mercedes is doubling down on the segment where they are strongest: cars priced above ₹1.5 crore, which saw nearly 85% growth in the last fiscal year.
The Replacement: 2026 CLA Electric
The vacuum left by the A-Class, EQA, and EQB is being filled by the all-new CLA Electric, which is set for its official Indian launch on April 24, 2026.
Price Hike
Effective 1 April 2026, Mercedes-Benz also implemented a 2% price hike across its entire remaining portfolio due to rising input costs and currency fluctuations.
Future Strategy
The company plans to launch 12 new cars in India during 2026, focusing on superior product content and high-end luxury rather than sales volume
