2026 Citroen eC3X Launched at Rs 10.25 lakh : Gets BaaS Model, Big Feature Upgrades, and Six Airbags

Citroën India has rebranded and relaunched its electric hatchback as the 2026 Citroën eC3X at Rs 10.25 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The biggest talking point of the launch is the introduction of a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model. By unbundling the cost of the battery, Citroen has drastically lowered the initial acquisition cost of the EV, mirroring recent trends seen in the budget electric car market.

Refreshed Exterior Design

The eC3X retains its muscular, crossover-inspired stance with black body cladding, front and rear skid plates, LED tail-lamps, and front fog lamps. However, it gains premium visual and functional upgrades:

• New Lighting Setup: Upgraded projector LED headlamps integrated into Citroen’s signature split-headlamp layout with LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
• Updated Wheels: Fresh 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
• Added Convenience: Electrically adjustable and auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs).

Interior & Features

While the core dashboard layout remains identical to the previous model, the cabin gets a significant tech boost and a more premium aesthetic:

• New Color Theme: A revised dual-tone Electric Blue and beige interior scheme paired with new leatherette seat upholstery.
• Upgraded Driver Display: A new 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster replaces the older basic unit.
• Premium Features: The addition of an electrochromic inside rearview mirror (IRVM), a wireless smartphone charger, and Connected Car 2.0 technology offering over 40 remote vehicle functions.
• Infotainment & Audio: Retains the crisp 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
• Optional Accessories: Buyers can choose a factory-vetted JBL audio system and a front-and-rear dual dashcam package.

Safety Features

Citroen has heavily reinforced the eC3X’s safety kit across the lineup:

• Airbag Upgrade: Higher variants now come equipped with six airbags, while the entry-level trims get four airbags as standard.
• Standard Safety Tech: The EV continues to offer essential safety nets including ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and speed-sensitive auto door locking.
