BYD Recalls Seal Electric Sedan in India Over Battery Cell Concerns

BYD Seal electric sedan has been recalled in India to address potential issues with its high-voltage Blade battery pack.

The company has not disclosed the number of units affected, Owners of the electric sedan have been advised to visit their BYD authorized service centers for inspection and, if necessary, a free battery replacement.

Notably, BYD India has yet to issue a public statement on the total number of vehicles affected or the timeline for completing the recall campaign.

BYD India is prioritizing customer convenience during the Seal EV recall by offering a doorstep pickup service. If you cannot visit a service center, the company will send authorized personnel to collect your vehicle for a professional OBD diagnostic check. If the scanner identifies any faults within the Blade Battery cells, BYD will provide a complete battery pack replacement free of charge.

Moreover, customers can expect their car to be delivered to them the same day after the battery replacement. This battery recall does not affect any of the other BYD models on sale in the country.
