
Car makers are preparing to launch a number of SUVs before Diwali 2025. New vehicle purchases are ever popular during the festive season in India and this year is no exception. And here is a look at what is to come.
Tata Punch Facelift 
The Tata Punch already one of the top-selling compact SUVs, is getting a mid life refresh.
- Launch schedule: October 2025
- Design revisions: You should anticipate hints taken in the Punch EV, such as a restyled grille and trim, redesigned bumpers and a reworked headlamp cluster.
- Internal updates: New infotainment display, new seat material and improved trim on the cabin to improve comfort.
- Engines: The familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor continues paired with manual and AMT gearbox.
The target of this update is to make the Punch relevant to young urban customers who desire a fashionable car that can be driven in the city.
New-Generation Hyundai Venue 
Hyundai is preparing to roll out a completely new Venue, marking its first full generational change since its debut.
- Launch schedule: October 2025
- Exterior: A macho appearance inspired by the Creta and Palisade, with a more massive grille and other more acute lighting arrangements.
- The interior features: Larger touchscreen, redesigned display and state-of-the-art connected car technology.
- Safety package: It is probable to contain Level 2 ADAS.
- Engines: Both the current petrol and diesel units should be retained and offer both a manual and automatic transmission.
Maruti Escudo 
The Escudo nameplate is set for a revival signalling Maruti Suzuki’s intent to strengthen its SUV line-up.
- Launch date: 3 September 2025
- Platform: Shared with the Grand Vitara, but with distinct styling and positioning.
- Sales channel: Unlike the Grand Vitara, the Escudo will retail through Maruti’s Arena network.
- Key features: Hybrid powertrain, connected tech, premium trims and an emphasis on fuel efficiency.
The Escudo will fit into the niche between the mass-market affordability and the premium SUV.
Renault Kiger Facelift 
Renault’s compact SUV will receive a mild refresh aimed at keeping it competitive in a crowded segment.
- Launch period: October 2025
- Exterior tweaks: Redesigned alloys, fresh paint options and sportier accents.
- Interior upgrades: Improved seat cushioning, refined interior plastics and updated infotainment software.
- Engines: The 1.0 litre petrol and 1.0 litre turbo petrol options will continue offered with manual AMT and CVT transmissions.
The newer Kiger will directly be in competition with its competitors such as Nissan Magnite and Tata Punch.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV 
Mahindra will be launching the XUV 3XO EV in India, which will be an electric addition to its line up that will be targeted towards budget friendly EV buyers.
- Battery: a 35kWh pack that seeks to provide realistic city-range.
- Pricing bracket: Likely between ₹14 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Unique touches: EV-specific design details and software features exclusive to the electric variant.
This model forms a larger effort of Mahindra to move into electric mobility, an area that it has been developing.
