Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS & Aura Enters Taxi Market, ranging from Rs 5.99–6.89 lakh

Hyundai Motor India has officially entered the commercial mobility segment with the launch of the Hyundai Prime Taxi range. With this move the company is directly addressing the needs of taxi operators and fleet owners who depend on vehicles that offer strong durability, consistent performance and predictable running costs. The new Prime range has been designed to support high daily usage while keeping ownership stress low

The Prime Taxi lineup includes two familiar and trusted models adapted for commercial use. These are the Prime HB hatchback which is based on the Grand i10 Nios, and the Prime SD sedan, which is derived from the Aura. Both cars are built to meet the expectations of full time taxi drivers and organized fleet operators

Hyundai Prime Taxi Models: Prime HB And Prime SD

The Hyundai Prime Taxi range consists of two body styles to suit different operating needs

• Prime HB is a hatchback developed from the Grand i10 Nios. It is suited for city-based taxi services, short trips and app based ride-hailing operations
• Prime SD is a compact sedan based on the Aura. It offers a larger boot and better rear-seat comfort making it ideal for airport runs and longer journeys

Just like their standard versions, both Prime HB and Prime SD are powered by a 1.2-liter Kappa four-cylinder engine. This engine comes with a factory-fitted CNG system, making the cars compliant and ready for commercial operation right from delivery

Hyundai states that this powertrain has been chosen to handle long daily running hours while keeping fuel and maintenance costs under control. The focus is clearly on long-term reliability, which is a key requirement in the commercial vehicle space

To meet regulatory needs, Hyundai has also included a company-fitted speed limiting function. The speed is capped at 80 kmph, ensuring the vehicles are fully compliant with taxi rules straight out of the showroom

Fuel efficiency plays a major role in taxi operations. Hyundai has shared clear mileage figures for both models running on CNG

• Prime SD mileage: 28.40 km per kg
• Prime HB mileage: 27.32 km per kg

Hyundai estimates the running cost at just 47 paise per kilometer. With this figure, the Hyundai Prime Taxi range is positioned as a strong income-focused option for drivers who rely on their vehicle as their main source of earnings

Built-In Speed Limiting Function For Compliance

To ensure compliance with commercial vehicle rules, Hyundai has equipped both Prime models with a company-fitted Speed Limiting Function. This system limits the top speed to 80 kmph, allowing taxi owners to use the cars straight from the showroom without additional modifications. This feature also supports safer driving during long working hours

Unlike many budget-focused commercial cars, Hyundai has not cut back on safety and comfort. Both Prime HB and Prime SD come with a strong list of standard features

Bookings for the Prime range are now open across India at a token amount of Rs. 5,000
