Tata Nexon Leads the Top 10 Cars in India in October 2025
The Tata Nexon continued its strong performance and claimed the top position with 22,083 units sold. This is a 50% jump compared to the same month last year
Nexon has been consistently popular among compact SUV buyers and this demand remained steady in October as well
Sedans Stay Weak Except for the Dzire
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire stood out as the only sedan in the list. It secured second place with 20,791 units showing a massive 64% YoY rise
The newer version of the model stronger safety ratings, added features and the GST cut together contributed to this remarkable surge
Maruti Dominates the Chart With Six Entries
Maruti Suzuki continued to show its strong presence in the market with six models in the top 10
- Ertiga, the country’s most loved MPV, claimed the third spot with 20,087 units growing 7% YoY
- The Wagon R a long time favourite among hatchback buyers saw 36% growth with 18,970 units
- The Fronx and Baleno also remained stable with single digit growth percentages
SUVs and Crossovers Remain Strong Performers
Models such as the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Punch recorded steady growth with increases ranging from 5% to 14%
Even though the growth was not in double digits for all SUVs, their overall demand stayed strong
Swift Slips to Tenth Position
The Maruti Suzuki Swift which usually ranks higher, dropped to the tenth position with 15,542 units. It was the only car in the list to witness a sales decline of 11% despite the tax benefits
