Kia Carens Clavis Beats Contemporaries In Features
Kia has introduced the Carens Clavis, a luxury version of its MPV and buyers can secure a unit starting now before it officially enters the market on May 23, 2025. This new MPV is meant to change the market by exceeding both the Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Ertiga in some important regions, despite coming at a price that falls between the two.

How and what products are priced and their position in the market?

It is expected that the Kia Carens Clavis will begin at a starting price that is just slightly higher than the current starting price (₹11.41 lakh, ex-showroom) of the pre-facelift Carens. An official price hasn’t been set, but experts think it will be between the Ertiga (₹8.97 lakh to ₹13.26 lakh) and the Innova Crysta (₹19.99 lakh to ₹26.82 lakh).

Feature Comparison

The Carens Clavis includes a range of handy features which include:

  • A massive 12.3-inch touchscreen system comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the Innova and Ertiga only feature tiny 8-inch and 7-inch wired screens.
  • The XUV700 features a fully digital instrument cluster, unlike the Innova’s semi-analog set up and the Ertiga’s TFT one.
  • Sound system featuring 8 Bose speakers on board.
  • 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera which are not available in either competitor’s car.
  • Wide sunroof, air cooling for the front seats and an air purifying system.
The car also has wireless charging for phones, front parking sensors, an electronic system for stopping and releasing the parking brake and a system to display each tyre’s air pressure.

Effects on the MPV category

Merge impressive features, improved safety and modern comfort into something drivers will want and Kia could edge out Innova Crysta as well as the popular, economical Ertiga from Maruti.
Reports by automotive experts say the Carens Clavis will appeal to those interested in a mid-segment MPV with luxury features and cost-effectiveness.

Types, Variants, and Engines

There will be seven different Clavis models, each powered by one of six engine-gearbox options, to suit all kinds of customers.
The coming of the Kia Carens Clavis is predicted to bring vital changes to the MPV market in India this year. If comfort, safety and technology matter all for a fair price, then keeping an eye on this category is a good idea.
