Kia will unveil the Carens Clavis EV on July 15, 2025, marking its entry into India’s mass-market EV space. This seven-seater EV MPV blends roomy family travel with zero-emission driving.
Buyers can book the Clavis EV online or at showrooms on launch day. Full pricing, battery options, and detailed specs will be revealed at the event.
The Carens Clavis EV aims to redefine affordable electric MPVs in India.
The Carens Clavis EV is built locally at Kia’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. This local manufacturing helps to keep the price lower than fully imported models. It also supports India’s EV supply chain and creates jobs in the region.
Kia’s growing dealer network ensures easy access to service and spare parts. This “Make in India” approach underpins strong after-sales support.
The Carens Clavis EV will launch in three trims to suit varied budgets and needs.
Trim | Battery Pack | Range | Ex-Showroom Price |
---|---|---|---|
Base HT | 42 kWh | 390 km | Rs. 16.00 Lakh |
HTX Plus | 51.4 kWh | 450 km | Rs. 19.50 Lakh (est.) |
GT Line | 51.4 kWh | 450 km | Rs. 24.80 Lakh (est.) |
The EV version mirrors the ICE Carens Clavis silhouette with clean, family-friendly lines. It gains a gloss-black, closed-off grille and aero-optimized 17-inch alloy wheels.
The signature LED “ice cube” headlights flow into the bumper for a distinct look. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar and subtle Clavis EV badging stand out.
Roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and body-colored mirrors complete the modern design.
Step inside to a dual-tone cabin featuring twin 12.3-inch screens for instruments and infotainment. Seating layouts include a 6-seater with captain chairs or a 7-seater bench setup.
A panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and ventilated front seats enhance comfort. Rear passengers get dedicated AC vents, USB-C ports, and ample legroom.
The flat floor design makes entry and exit easy for all three rows.
A single front-mounted motor powers the Clavis EV for smooth acceleration. The 42 kWh battery delivers around 390 km, while the 51.4 kWh unit claims up to 450 km on a full charge.
AC charging (7 kW) fills the battery in about 8 hours. DC fast charging takes it from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 45 minutes.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functions let you power gadgets or share charge with another EV.
Every Clavis EV comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and hill-start assist. Front and rear disc brakes, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitor add to safety.
Higher trims add Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. Automatic emergency braking and blind-spot warning boost crash avoidance.
A 360° camera and front/rear parking sensors make tight spots easy.
The Carens Clavis EV offers digital key access via smartphone or NFC card. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto keep your phone connected.
A premium Bose 8-speaker sound system brings rich audio. Cabin air purifier and a wireless charging pad add daily convenience.
Four USB-C ports ensure every passenger can top up devices.
With all seats in use, the Clavis EV offers about 330 liters of boot space. Folding the third row boosts capacity to nearly 1,300 liters for bulky cargo.
A flat-floor design and low load lip make heavy items easy to stow. Under-floor storage and door pockets increase small-item space.
Roof rails add extra luggage-carry options for family trips.
The Clavis EV joins India’s small club of electric MPVs, taking on the BYD eMax 7. It sits below premium Kia EVs like the EV6 and EV9, making it a value choice.
It also offers an electric alternative to ICE MPVs such as the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Invicto.
Strong local manufacturing and wide service reach give it an edge in cost and support. It stakes a claim as India’s volume-market seven-seater EV.
Booking opens July 15 with a small, fully refundable token amount. Deliveries begin in late August in major metros.
Customers can choose trim and color via Kia’s website or showrooms. Kia targets over 300 EV service outlets by year-end. Owners benefit from dedicated EV bays and certified technicians.
