Kia EV4 Globally unveiled as sedan and hatchback models

Kia has unveiled the EV4, showcasing both the EV4 sedan and EV4 hatchback models. Positioned to redefine the C-segment, the EV4 blends innovation with fresh design aesthetics, offering a bold new take on traditional sedan and hatchback styles.

Kia’s first electric sedan and hatchback, will appeal to a broader customer base. The Kia EV4, which will be available in both standard and long-range versions, features a sophisticated electric powertrain that prioritises efficiency and performance.

Kia EV4 Battery Pack and Performance

  • Battery choices: 58.3 kWh (standard) and 81.4 kWh (long-range) 
  • Class-leading range: Up to 630 km (long-range model) based on WLTP standards 
  • Aerodynamic efficiency: Ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd 
  • Powertrain: 150 kW motor, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds 
  • Fast-charging capability: 10-80% charge in 31 minutes via 400V platform 
  • Additional Features: Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities 

Kia EV4 Safety Features

Kia has equipped the EV4 with its latest driver assistance technologies, including Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2) and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2. The model’s structure is reinforced for impact protection, with a multi-load path battery safety system and enhanced body rigidity. Kia aims for a five-star safety rating in both Euro NCAP and US NCAP assessments and IIHS Top Safety Pick recognition.

Kia EV4 India Launch

Sales for the new Kia EV4 fastback are set to commence in March this year in native South Korea, while the Europe-bound hatch version will follow suit later in the second half of the year. Beyond these two markets, the EV4 will also be making its way to the US. While there is no news for the Kia EV4 to come in India yet.
