Kia India has marked a major milestone as it rolled out 15 lakh vehicles since starting operations in August 2019, from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur, making it the youngest automaker in India to do so.
As a celebration of the achievement, Kia India has confirmed the launch date of the updated Carens on May 8, 2025.
Kia’s Andhra Pradesh plant has a 3-lakh annual production capacity is spread around 536-acre has helped the company scale quickly. The plant also functions as a global export base, with over 3.6 lakh vehicles shipped to more than 90 countries.
Kia India sells 7 models in our market, including Seltos, Syros, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6 and EV9. This covers a vast range of market segments. Howevr, the new-gen Carnival is imported as a Completely Built-Up unit, along with the Kia EV6 and EV9 electric SUVs.
Seltos dominates the count, accounting for 700,668 units (46.7%), followed by Sonet, with 519,064 units (34.6%). The last 241,582 units (16.1%) come from Carens, with 2.6% attributed to the new entrants, Syros and Carnival.
