Kia Sonet 2026: India’s Most Affordable Diesel & Turbo Automatic SUV Launched Under ₹10 Lakh

Kia has introduced two new entry-level variants of the Sonet equipped with automatic transmissions.
By launching new affordable automatic variants, the company has significantly lowered the starting price for its high-tech transmission models.
The turbo-petrol version is now available in a new HTK(O) 7DCT variant priced at Rs 9,89,900. The diesel version gets a new HTE(O) 6AT variant that costs Rs 9,77,600 (ex-showroom).

Why These New Variants Matter For Buyers?
With this move, the Kia Sonet becomes the first SUV in its class to offer a sophisticated Torque Converter and a DCT under ₹10 lakh.
The rise of automatic variants is a clear sign of changing buyer preferences. As traffic congestion continues to grow in our cities, more and more customers are opting for automatic transmissions.
They help ease the stress of stop-and-go traffic and make daily commutes a lot more manageable. By offering automatic options in their lower and mid-range models, Kia has significantly lowered the barrier for buyers looking for a compact automatic SUV.
