Kia India unveiled its highly anticipated compact SUV, the Syros, marking the fifth addition to its SUV lineup for the Indian market.
Bookings for the Syros will commence on January 3. Its price has not yet been revealed. Deliveries are slated to begin in early February.
The Kia Syros is offered in six broad variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and HTX Plus (O).
Hardeep Singh Brar, Sr. Vice President & Head of Sales Kia India, told ANI, “Today we are unveiling the car. This is the global unveiling of the car. This is the first time this car has been showcased ever. We want people to take a look at it. And once people take a look, I think we will take feedback on what kind of price they are expecting. And by the end of this month, early February, this car will announce prices”.
Kia Syros: Design
The Syros features a boxy and upright design, with vertically stacked LED headlamps positioned at the edges of the bumper. On the sides, the Kia Syros features blacked-out A-, C-, and D-pillars, paired with body-colored B-pillars, creating a smooth and clean window line. At the rear, the Syros gets sleek L-shaped LED taillights and a flat tailgate.

The cabin of the Syros features a completely new layout featuring a 30-inch panoramic dual-screen configuration that includes a digital driver’s display and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, the dashboard features physical switches for HVAC controls, concealed air vents, and ambient lighting.
In terms of features, it offers a 4-way powered driver’s seat and dual-zone AC. It also comes with 64-color ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats, remote window up/down power windows, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

In terms of dimensions, the Syros measures 3,995mm in length, 1,800mm in width, 1,665mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,550mm.
Kia Syros : Powertrain
Kia Syros will come equipped with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that is tuned to produce 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of peak torque. It will also get the option of a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which puts out 113 hp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include a 6-speed MT, a 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Kia Syros: Safety features
On the safety front, the Syros has 16 adaptive features, such as lane-keep assistance, thanks to Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The SUV also comes equipped with hill-start assistance, electronic stability control, and six airbags as standard.
Kia Syros : Bookings and deliveries
Kia has announced that it will start accepting bookings for the Syros from January 3, 2025. Kia Syros deliveries in India are said to commence from February 2025.
