Made-in-India Maruti e Vitara exports have officially begun, and it’s rolling out from Gujarat with a lot more than just four wheels and a battery.

Over 2,900 units have been shipped from Pipavav Port in Gujarat to 12 European countries, marking a proud moment for both the company and India’s growing EV industry.
The e Vitara is built at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, a plant that’s quickly becoming the company’s EV nerve center. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself flagged off the first unit on August 26, calling Maruti a “brand ambassador” of the Make in India initiative.

The first shipment of Maruti e Vitara will grace 12 European nations. These include the UK, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium.

The e Vitara is available in three trims—Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. They come bearing two battery options: 61.1 kWh and 48.8 kWh.
Depending on the variant, the car can deliver up to 500 km on a single charge. Also, DC fast charging can take it from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes.
Feature‑wise, the car is distinctly rich. LED projector headlamps, ADAS safety suite, electric sunroof, 360‑degree camera, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and dual 10‑inch displays. Clearly, this is not just an average EV. In fact, it’s Maruti’s most feature‑rich model yet.
This Maruti e Vitara export marks Suzuki’s first global EV rollout from India, signaling a shift in how the company views its Indian operations. Instead of being just a domestic production hub, India is now a launchpad for global EV ambitions.
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that after Europe, e Vitara will be exported to more than 100 countries. That giant statement signals confidence in Indian manufacturing, especially in the EV space.

The car’s domestic launch is expected later this year. At that time, the e Vitara could compete against Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.
