Mahindra & Mahindra has discontinued the Thar Convertible Top variants, the AX 4WD variants, and the LX variants that came with an open differential.
Mahindra has discontinued 8 variants of its popular Thar off-road SUV. The automaker has removed the AX 4wd versions. Moreover, the company has also removed the variants which came without the mechanical locking differential in the 4wd variants. This also means that the AX trim will now not have any of the 4wd variants.
Mahindra has discontinued up to 8 variants from Thar’s variant lineup. Up until now, Thar was offered in as many as 19 variants. The India automaker has streamlined Thar’s variant lineup and will now offer 11 selected variants.
Among these discontinued variants, only two are for the petrol powertrain, while the remaining six are for the diesel engine option.
Mahindra Thar price range from Rs. 11.50 lakh to Rs. 17.60 lakh.
Reportedly, Mahindra plans to introduce an updated version of the Thar in 2026. Mahindra’s upcoming facelift version is expected to attract even more customers, reinforcing its position in the market.
