Mahindra Thar Roxx Booking Amount Set at Rs 21,000

Mahindra & Mahindra launched its much anticipated car, the Thar Roxx, in August.

Customers will be able to book the SUV online starting October 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. The booking amount has been set at Rs 21,000, Autocar India can confirm.

The Thar Roxx is available in MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L variants, with prices starting at Rs 12.99 lakh and going up to Rs 22.49 lakh.

The Thar Roxx is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol or a 2.2-liter diesel engine, similar to the Scorpio-N and the 3-door Thar but with slight tweaks. Both engines come with manual and automatic options, but the 4×4 feature is only available with the diesel engine.

For those interested in the 4×4 models (Rs 18.79 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh), they can pick between the MX5 (manual), AX5L (automatic), and AX7L (manual and automatic). (all prices, ex-showroom).
The Thar Roxx is based on the new M_Glyde platform, which weighs 179 kg, is 18% lighter, has 41% higher bending frequency, and also has 51% higher torsional frequency. Over 88% of the platform is made using high-strength steel. There are more than 35 standard safety features, including six airbags and a 3-point seatbelt for all seats.
Test drives for the Thar Roxx began on September 14, and according to dealers, deliveries are expected to start by Dussehra, October 12, or by the end of this month.
The Thar Roxx is being manufactured at Mahindra’s Nashik facility along with the Thar 3-door. The combined capacity for both SUVs is 9,500 units a month.
