Maruti e Vitara: 6 Key Facts You Should Know

The Maruti e Vitara is set to become a significant entry in the Indian electric SUV market. Designed as a modern compact EV it focuses on advanced technology, eco friendly mobility, and practical performance for everyday use. With strong battery options, fast charging support and smart features the e Vitara is aimed at addressing the rising demand for sustainable cars in the Indian market.

1. Battery Options And Performance

The e Vitara will be offered with two battery pack choices 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller 49kWh battery is paired with a single motor that generates 142bhp and 189Nm of torque. This setup makes it suitable for daily city driving while offering quick performance.

The larger 61 kWh battery brings more power with 172 bhp but retains the same torque output. It also uses a single motor. For those who want extra performance and traction, Maruti will provide a dual motor version with the same 61 kWh pack. This variant uses the AllGrip all wheel drive system and delivers about 181 bhp with 300 Nm of torque.

Fast charging support is another highlight. With a 150kW charger the 61kWh battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 45 minutes. The SUV also comes with multiple driving modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport. The AWD model gets an extra Snow mode to handle slippery surfaces more effectively.

2. Acceleration And Driving Range

Performance figures show the e Vitara is no slow mover. The 49kWh version can accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds. The single motor 61 kWh variant completes the same run in 8.7 seconds while the AWD version is the quickest, reaching the mark in 7.4 seconds.

When it comes to range, the base trim with the 49 kWh pack covers around 345 km on a single charge. The 61 kWh single motor option offers the longest range of about 426km. Meanwhile the dual motor AWD model delivers roughly 396 km, balancing performance with efficiency.

3. Battery Warranty

Maruti Suzuki is also expected to offer a strong battery warranty with the e Vitara. In overseas markets like the UK and Ireland, the company has announced coverage of 10 years or 160,000 km. This plan will likely be extended to India as well. Competitors are offering similar or even longer warranties for example, Mahindra provides up to 200,000 km on the BE 06, while Tata and Hyundai generally give 8 years or 160,000 km coverage.

4. Features And Comfort
