Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV for the Indian market, the e Vitara has been unveiled. The model has also been evaluated under Bharat NCAP testing, where it secured a five-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

Maruti has confirmed that the e Vitara will be available with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and assured buyback. It will also be sold via a subscription model.

The carmaker has stated that pricing will be disclosed in the coming weeks with deliveries set for early next year.

The vehicle has already been in active production for quite some time. Positioned as a global electric SUV, the e Vitara is manufactured in India and exported to more than 100 countries.

Maruti Suzuki Charging Infrastructure

Each buyer will receive a smart home charger with installation support, while the brand plans to deploy public fast chargers across the top 100 cities within the next 2–3 years, spaced every 5–10km.

Moreover, 1,500 EV-ready workshops will be set up in over 1,000 cities to ensure comprehensive after-sales service for the growing EV customer base.

To support its EV ecosystem, Maruti Suzuki is partnering with 13 charging point operators to build a nationwide charging network, with 2,000 chargers going live on launch day.
