Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG GT 63 and the GT 63 Pro in India at Rs. 3 crore and Rs. 3.65 crore (ex-showroom).
Two years after its global unveiling, Mercedes-AMG has finally brought the second generation AMG GT to Indian shores.
The launch is part of Mercedes-Benz’s aggressive product strategy to expand its Indian portfolio with eight new models. It follows recent launches like the EQS SUV 450, Maybach SL 680, and the electric G-Class.
The car has also grown in overall dimensions, becoming longer, wider, and taller, with enhancements aimed at comfort and practicality.
It’s longer by 182mm, wider by 45mm, and taller by 66mm. The increased size also means a more spacious cabin and a bigger boot, making it a more practical luxury coupe.
The second-generation AMG GT retains the design language of its predecessor but gets subtle aerodynamic improvements and modern lighting elements.
The new AMG GT now offers a more practical 2+2 seating layout instead of being a strict 2-seater, making it more versatile for passengers or occasional use.
Powertrain
Both models are powered by AMG’s hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Power is delivered to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ system.
The GT 63 produces 585hp and 800Nm, while the GT 63 Pro is tuned for 612hp and 850Nm. This setup enables rapid acceleration and enhanced handling for both coupes.
Moreover, GT Pro variant features improved engine cooling, larger brakes, enhanced tyres, and lighter wheels. Furthermore, the aerodynamics have been refined, reducing front lift by 30 kg and increasing downforce by 15 kg compared to the GT 63.
Color Options
The GT 63 and GT 63 Pro are available in five standard colors – Sun Yellow solid, High Tech Silver metallic, Selenite Grey metallic, Spectral Blue metallic and Obsidian Black metallic.
They also get seven Manufaktur colors – Patagonia Red Bright, Opalith White Bright, Alpine Grey Solid, Spectral Blue Magno, Opalith White Magno, Hyper Blue Magno and Green Hell Magno.
Features
The coupe features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch freestanding infotainment system. The GT 63 lineup also includes AMG performance steering, a Burmester premium audio system, and customizable Nappa leather upholstery in multiple color options.
Deliveries
Deliveries of the GT 63 will begin by the end of this year, while the GT 63 Pro will arrive next year.
