Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric has been launched in India with price starting at Rs. 55 Lakh

This launch marks the return of the CLA badge in India after its petrol-powered version was discontinued in 2020.

The all-electric CLA in three trims:

• CLA 200 Standard Range Progressive Line
• ⁠CLA 250+ Long Range AMG Line
• ⁠CLA 250+ Long Range Launch Edition

Notably, the equipment level of both the CLA 250+ Long Range and CLA 200 Standard Range will remain the same. This is in line with the automaker’s commitment to a more feature-packed product across variants. Moreover, Customers who pre-booked the car will receive a complimentary Wall Box charger.

Bookings

Bookings for the premium electric sedan are already open. Customers can book the car with a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Deliveries

Deliveries for the CLA 250+ Long Range are expected to begin by the end of April 2026. Deliveries for the CLA 200 Standard Range are scheduled to follow in June 2026.

Design

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA EV adopts a striking coupe-inspired silhouette, with a strong emphasis on aerodynamic efficiency. At the front, the electric sedan features a gloss-black sealed grille embedded with illuminated three-pointed star elements, giving it a distinct visual identity. This is complemented by sleek twin-pod LED headlamps connected by a signature thin light strip.

The rear of the car mirrors this modern look with a full-width LED light bar linking the tail lamps to create a cohesive lighting signature. From the side, the CLA EV appears minimalistic yet futuristic, highlighted by flush-fitting door handles and specially designed aerodynamic 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Interior & Features

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric features a sophisticated, minimalist dashboard highlighted by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. While the global CLA 350 includes a dedicated passenger screen, the India-spec version opts for a sleek gloss-black panel accented with elegant tri-star elements for a premium finish.

The driver is greeted by a modern 3-spoke steering wheel with intuitive touch-sensitive controls. For maximum comfort, the cabin is fitted with high-quality leatherette upholstery and powered front seats that include both heating and massage functions. Overhead, a fixed panoramic glass roof floods the interior with natural light, enhancing the sense of space.

Notably, only the Launch Edition variant gets the Mercedes‘ Superscreen with a triple screen layout.

Safety Features

On the safety front, the electric sedan is equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, tire pressure monitoring system, and an electronic parking brake. It also supports Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
