Mercedes-Benz EQA launched in India at Rs. 66 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new EQA electric SUV in the country. The EQA is priced at Rs. 66 lakhs.

The Mercedes-Benz EQA, which is the electrified version of the GLA SUV, is the most affordable EV offering from the German auto manufacturer, and the EQA is the smallest electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes EQA SUV is the fourth vehicle in the brand’s EV portfolio in India after the EQB seven-seat SUV EQE SUV and EQS sedan. Moreover, the German automaker plans to launch 6 EVs in India in 2024.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched six cars in the first half of 2024, and another six models are lined up for the coming months.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Exterior and Design

The overall design of the EQA is identical to its ICE counterpart, the GLA. It features a blanked-off grille with multiple pointed three-star inserts and revised front and rear bumpers.

The electric crossover measures 4463 mm in length, 1834 mm in width, and 1624 mm in height.
New LED headlamps and full-length LED light bars at front and rear. The vehicle also gets a connected tail lamp set up, with 19-inch alloys that come with AMG badging.

The EQA has multiple paint options, which include Mountain Grey, High-Tech Silver, Polar White, Night Black, Cosmos Black, Spectral Blue, Manufaktur Patagonia Red Metallic, and Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Interior and Features

The EQA is a feature-loaded EV equipped with a dual 10.25-inch infotainment screen (with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and digital driver’s display setup with EV-specific graphics. It offers seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, a three-spoke steering wheel, gesture control, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, dual-zone climate control, electric tailgate, and the MBUX Gen 2 UI.

Additional features include AR navigation support, improved HUD, and a new mode that rates drivers based on their driving styles.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Powertrain

The EQA 250+ variant is powered by a 70.5 kWh battery pack, powering a single motor mated to the front wheels produce an output of 190 PS and 385 Nm.

The EQA has a claimed range of 560 kilometers, and Mercedes says that a 30-minute charge would allow it to run 400 kilometers. It supports both AC (7.4 kW and 11 kW) and DC charging. The EQA 250+ can be fully charged in 7 hours and 15 minutes with an 11 kW AC charger.

The EQA 250+ can sprint from a standstill to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 160 kmph.

Notably, Mercedes offers eight years (1,60,000 km) of battery warranty for the EQA.
