Mercedes-Benz India has announced a recall for select models in India due to a potential fire risk.
The update on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) confirms that a total of 30 units have been affected.
The recall affects various models, including the EQS electric sedan, S-Class, GLC SUVs, and AMG SL sports cars, manufactured between July 2023 and March 2024.
The fresh recall affects 30 high-end vehicles due to a potential fire risk stemming from incorrectly reworked fuse boxes. This defect could cause serious issues such as system failures, sudden loss of propulsion, or, in worst cases, a fire, posing significant safety risks to drivers and passengers.
The company is likely to contact owners of affected units to schedule an appointment for free repairs.
Notably, there was another recall in January 2025 addressing models like GLC, AMG GT, S-Class, G-Class, and AMG E Class pertaining to a fuel delivery module.
