Mercedes-Benz recalls Maybach S-Class
Mercedes-Benz India has issued a recall for select units of its flagship luxury sedan, the Maybach S-Class.
The German marque has recalled 386 units of the Maybach S680 manufactured between April 29, 2021, and January 27, 2024, and one S-Class manufactured on April 21, 2021, which have been affected.
According to the SIAM, the ECU software in these models does not meet current specifications. In such a case, an increase in exhaust temperatures and damage to surrounding components might occur.’ It further stated that there can be a loss of propulsion without prior warning and an increased risk of fire, which cannot be ruled out.
The Maybach S-Class, positioned as a more luxurious version of the standard S-Class, remains one of the brand’s most premium offerings in India.
