Mahindra is continuing to test the updated version of the XUV700 and once again a test vehicle of the facelifted SUV has been caught on camera. The camouflaged unit shows several design tweaks and hints at changes that could make it to the production ready model. The new SUV is expected to go on sale in the first few months of 2026 likely in the January March period.
The test model shows slimmer headlights compared to the current version. These lights now house two projector units, which should improve night visibility. The outgoing model uses reflector type LED lamps, so this will be a step forward. Along with the headlamp change the front grille also appears refreshed although the camouflage hides most of it. A new bumper design is expected as well with sharper lines for a sportier look.
On the side, the SUV’s shape is still the same. The flush-fitting door handles and overall stance remain unchanged. However, what stands out are the new alloy wheels. Two different designs were spotted, hinting that Mahindra may offer separate styles depending on the variant.
At the back, the SUV continues with a familiar layout. The tail lamps resemble the current ones but are expected to get a new internal LED pattern. A slightly reworked rear bumper is also expected to be part of the facelift package.
One of the biggest highlights of the facelift will be the new 12.3-inch triple-display setup, similar to what is seen in the XEV 9e. This setup will combine the instrument cluster, infotainment unit, and a passenger-side screen into a single panel for a modern look.
Other additions could include rear ventilated seats and an extra wireless charging pad. These features are becoming common among rivals, so it makes sense for Mahindra to include them. The facelift, however, will continue to offer all the main features already available in the SUV:
Safety will remain a strong area for the SUV. The facelift is expected to carry forward the following features:
There are no changes expected under the hood. The SUV should continue with the same engine options
The current XUV700 is priced between Rs 19.64 lakh and Rs 25.14 lakh (ex showroom). The facelift is expected to launch in 2026 and will likely be priced slightly higher due to the added features and updated design
Once launched the facelift will continue to compete with Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra Scorpio N
