New Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe Launched at Rs 1.52 Crore; A45 S Aero Track Edition Debuts at Rs 87 Lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced two performance variants in India, the AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition and AMG GLE Coupe.

These models are designed for enthusiasts seeking high-performance vehicles combined with luxury and advanced engineering.

Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition

Marking the return of the world’s most powerful four-cylinder hot-hatch to India after a three-year hiatus, the Aero Track Edition is designed for the purist. Positioned as India’s most powerful hot hatch, this edition features motorsport-inspired visual and aerodynamic upgrades.

Interestingly, this edition is priced approximately Rs 5.5 lakh lower than the last-recorded price of the standard A45 S.

• Price: ₹87 lakh (ex-showroom).
• Performance: Retains the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 421 hp and 500 Nm.
• Speed: 0–100 kmph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 270 kmph.

Key highlights: The AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition includes gloss-black treatment for the front splitter, side skirts, ORVM housings, beltline and window surrounds, along with black chrome-finished exhaust tips. Depending on the body color, these accents either create a stark contrast or blend seamlessly for a stealthier look.

Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition

Targeted at luxury SUV enthusiasts who demand sharper handling, this special version of the GLE 53 Coupe comes pre-loaded with high-performance hardware typically offered as optional extras.

• Price: ₹1.52 crore (ex-showroom).
• Performance: Powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six engine delivering 435 hp and 520 Nm.
• Speed: 0–100 kmph in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph.

Interior & Features: On the inside, the cabin retains its premium appeal with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and a Burmester 13-speaker sound system. Comfort features include ventilated, heated and memory-enabled front seats, wireless charging and four-zone climate control.

Strategic Momentum: Quality Over Quantity

The launch of these “Top-End Vehicles” (TEVs) aligns with Mercedes-Benz India’s “Go to Customer” strategy. Despite a slight volume dip early in the calendar year, the brand’s focus on high-margin, high-substance vehicles has paid off, with the AMG portfolio alone growing by 34% last year.

Mercedes-Benz India achieved its best-ever fiscal year sales in FY2025–26, retailing 19,363 units, representing a 2.3% year-on-year growth

Mercedes-Benz India achieved record annual sales in FY26, leading the luxury segment with 19,363 units (up from 18,928 in FY25). This growth was driven by a 16% surge in high-end models like the S-Class, Maybach, AMG range, and EQS SUV, which now contribute 27% of total volumes.

The momentum continued into 2026, with Q1 sales rising 7% year-on-year to 5,131 units. Demand for top-tier luxury remains so high that waiting periods for the AMG G63 and Maybach S-Class now stretch from four months to a full year.

Battery-powered vehicles (EVs) saw an 85% growth, now accounting for 20% of all top-end sales. The EQS SUV has become a standout performer in the ₹1.4 crore+ segment. To build on this, Mercedes-Benz will launch the all-new CLA electric on April 24, 2026.

Network expansion

Mercedes-Benz plans to further expand its presence with over 20 new luxury outlets in 2026 including entry into emerging markets like Visakhapatnam and Varanasi, supported by franchise partner investments exceeding ₹450 crore.
