Official: Hyundai Announces 1% Price Hike Across India Range from May 2026
08 Apr 2026, 07:02 PM
- The increase is due to rising input costs and will see prices rise by ₹5,500 to ₹4.63 lakh depending on the model.
- Popular cars like the Hyundai Creta, Verna, and Venue will all be affected.

Hyundai Motor India has just announced a price increase of up to 1% across all its models, starting May 1, 2026. The company cited “sustained escalation” in the cost of raw materials and overall operational expenses.
This is the second time this year that prices have been adjusted, following a 0.6% hike back in January.
The announcement comes as several automakers have initiated similar revisions, citing sustained cost pressures and commodity price volatility. However, Hyundai is late to jump on the bandwagon, with manufacturers like Tata Motors, BMW, and JSW MG Motor India already increasing prices from this month.
Hyundai has not share model-wise price changes, but confirmed that the hike will not be uniform and will differ by variant.
Which Models Are Affected
The price hike will apply across Hyundai’s lineup and will cover entry-level hatchbacks to premium SUVs. This includes popular models like the Creta, Venue, Exter, and i20, among others. Since the price increase is based on a percentage, you’ll see a bigger jump in the cost of the more expensive vehicles.
| Model Category | Key Models Affected | Estimated Increase |
|---|---|---|
| Hatchbacks | Grand i10 Nios, i20, i20 N Line | ₹5,500 – ₹11,500 |
| Compact/Mid SUVs | Exter, Venue, Creta, Alcazar | ₹5,800 – ₹21,000 |
| Sedans | Aura, Verna | ₹6,000 – ₹18,000 |
| Electric Vehicles | Creta Electric, Ioniq 5 | Up to ₹4.63 Lakh* |
Pro-Tip: Buy in April
If you are planning to purchase a Hyundai, doing so before April 30 will save you from the price hike. Additionally, many dealers currently have “Year-End” or “April Benefit” schemes on models like the Verna and i20 (up to ₹1.10 Lakh in some regions) to clear existing stock before the May revision.
