Renault’s Indian portfolio is about to get a serious upgrade. The brand has officially unveiled the Renault Boreal SUV globally, and it’s not just another crossover—it’s a stretched, three-row evolution of the iconic Duster, reimagined for modern families.

The Boreal SUV launch took place in Brazil on July 10, but all eyes are now on the Indian market, where this 7-seater Duster is expected to arrive by early 2026.

This is more than a facelift. It’s Renault’s clearest alert that it’s ready to reclaim its spot in the premium SUV segment, and with a product that’s both familiar and forward-looking.

What is the Renault Boreal India SUV?

Renault new SUV 2025 stretches to 4,556 mm in length and brings a 2,702 mm wheelbase. This is ample room for three rows without coming across as oversized.

There are positive points to note under design. Y-shaped LED DRLs, a bold grille, and squared-off wheel arches give the car a muscular stance.

The India-spec version will probably retain most of these cues, with minor changes for localized preferences.

Inside the 7-Seater Duster: What’s New?

The Renault Boreal interior is a clear upgrade from the utilitarian Duster cabin.

Expect a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, and even ventilated front seats with massage function.

Boot space comes to about 586 litres. This is expandable to 1,770 litres once the seats are folded down.

Safety gets a major improvement too. Level 2 ADAS features (lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera) may become available in the Indian variant.

Renault Boreal Engine Specs and Performance

Renault Boreal India version could run on a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. It can produce 151 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission options may include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Globally, Renault is offering flex-fuel and hybrid variants. But the Indian launch will perhaps focus on petrol first. A hybrid may possibly follow later depending on demand.

Renault Boreal Price in India and Rivals

Renault’s strategy seems to be: deliver more features, more space, and a trusted nameplate, all without a premium price tag.

Final Thoughts

The Renault new SUV 2025 isn’t just a product launch—it’s a brand reset. With the Boreal SUV launch, Renault is betting big on Indian families who want a spacious, tech-loaded SUV that doesn’t feel bloated or overpriced. If you’ve ever wished your Duster had a third row, a smarter cabin, and a bit more polish, the Renault Boreal India might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
