Following a previous recall in April 2025, the Volkswagen Group India has once again flagged a critical safety issue affecting vehicles manufactured between December 2021 and May 2025.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), two major seatbelt-related defects have been identified:
Cracks in the metal base frame of the rear seatbelt, which may compromise its strength and reliability.
Incorrect seatbelt components fitted in some vehicles, both at the front and rear, potentially affecting safety performance during collisions.
These faults came to light during the company’s regular quality check and internal assessments, leading to immediate action.
